Gower College Swansea has appointed a new student photographer to help capture the many activities and events that take place throughout the academic year.
Victoria Gourlay, who is studying A Level Photography, English and Classical Civilisation at the Gorseinon campus, already has an impressive CV. Earlier this year, she approached Waterstones in the city centre and organised an exhibition of her work in store. The event was a great success and Victoria even sold a piece of work as a direct result.
In addition, Victoria completed a work placement as a photographer with the South Wales Evening Post where she was given several assignments and got to see her work in print.
“I’m passionate about photography and so decided to use my initiative and contact both Waterstones and the Evening Post,” says Victoria. “Both experiences really paid off for me and helped to increase my confidence. After college, I’m hoping to progress to Bournemouth to study photography so my work as student photographer will be a fantastic addition to my portfolio.”
