Gower College Swansea is delighted to participate in the National Eisteddfod of Wales 2014, which is taking place at Festival Fields, Millennium Coastal Park, Llanelli from 1-9 August.
Throughout the week, staff and students will be on hand to give information about college life and advice on a variety of full and part time courses. The college stand can be found at stalls 1114-1116.
Visitors to the college stand can also enjoy a range of activities* including: Children’s corner; Smoothie bike; Art workshop; Enterprise events; Learn sign language; Massage chair and a talk on the ground-breaking Project Enduro.
In addition, Gower College Swansea will take the opportunity to launch two exciting initiatives at the Eisteddfod.
Tuesday 5 August (12pm) will see the launch of the College’s new Welsh Language Scheme, which has been led by the College’s Welsh Language Steering Group and prepared after consultation with students, staff, partners and stakeholders. The new Scheme sets out a clear vision and direction in supporting the continuing development of a bilingual college. There will be a short address followed by a performance by our Music students.
On Thursday 7 August (12pm) Gower College Swansea will announce the successful applications for the £200,000 Innovation Fund for 2014/15. This fund was introduced to support a wide range of staff and student initiatives which will contribute towards the College’s ongoing development. Applications for funding of up to £20,000 per application were invited and a College panel – consisting of managers, staff and students – met in late June to decide on how best to allocate this money.
*Activities are taking place on different days throughout the week.
