Staff and students from Gower College Swansea have been regular visitors to Pentrehafod School over recent weeks, providing a series of lunchtime activity sessions which gave pupils a taste of some of the vocational courses which the college offers. A variety of areas were represented, including Music Performance and Music Technology, Digital Technology, Hairdressing, Beauty, Business, Sport, Engineering, Health and Social Care, Childcare, Science and the Performing Arts.
Mr Chris John, the School’s Curriculum Enrichment Coordinator, commented: “The lunchtime sessions have been great for our pupils and I think the college departments have enjoyed coming in as well. I look forward to a further series of sessions starting in the new academic year.”
Beth Hughes, Learner Recruitment Manager, added: “These interactive session have proved very popular and we hope it will encourage pupils to look at all the options available to them. This is just one example of the college and the school working together to provide information and support for pupils.”
