Gower College Swansea is celebrating again this week with a GCSE pass rate of 98%. This follows last week's excellent AS, A Level and BTEC results.
These results reflect the achievements of part time GCSE students, full time students who came to the college needing to re-sit certain subjects and who have been receiving tuition throughout the year, and students taking the Spanish GCSE as part of their AS/A Level programme, where the subject had not been offered at their schools.
College Principal, Mark Jones, commented: “GCSE results day has produced results which will enable our learners to progress to the next level of achievement. It is also the day when the College welcomes hundreds of students who come in to confirm their choice of course and to complete enrolment. We understand that some of those who received their GCSE results this week are still unsure about what to do next, or perhaps did not get the grades they expected, and they are welcome to call in to chat about the options available. Gower College Swansea offers a wide mix of academic and vocational courses and there are limited places still available for this academic year. Anyone who drops in to our Gorseinon or Tycoch campuses can have a chat with a careers officer or student adviser to find out what is available and to have some advice. Students who celebrated their A Level and BTEC results last week are now progressing to universities and colleges throughout the UK, or taking up further training, apprenticeships or employment, and we would encourage any young people who are still struggling with decisions about their future to come in to talk to us - there will be no pressure to make a commitment.”
